Happy New Year!
Well, Jenna and I knew that it would be busy but we didn’t expect it to be so soon. Usually, the first and second weekends in January are reasonably quiet. People are still on holiday and the market takes time to pick up.
This year we held all advertising until late in the first week of January, so we didn’t have the enquiries over the Christmas period. It also gave us time to refine our listings, make sure the photos were good quality and current, the advertising copy was accurate, the rents were entered correctly and everything was all in place before uploading to Trade Me, realestate.co.nz and our own website.
We have industry peers we chat to now and then and they were saying they couldn’t believe how busy it was. The first Saturday showing, we had three Stable reps out on the road all of whom reported an average of 10+ attendees at each viewing. Remarkable.
This of course means the market is active and busy. Great for minimal downtime between tenancies and great for us as we aren’t having the typical re-shows of properties.
Lets see what February brings!
